What is Community Based Healing?
Listen to Carlos Plazola explain the Oakland Community Healing Initiative (OCHI).
OCHI builds upon decriminalization of entheogenic plants and fungi, promote community based guidelines for safe practice and legal protection of ceremony
The OCHI also fosters micro enterprise opportunities in communities that have the greatest need
The OCHI ordinance also establishes the collection and reporting of data through Community Based Research opportunities with leading, local academic research centers
We at Decriminalize Nature San Francisco believe something similar can be implemented in our city to address its unique and urgent issues. By empowering communities to self determine how best to use entheogenic plants and fungi, these medicines when used with respect and care, have the potential to heal traumas, treat addiction and restore our connection to nature and our own individual and community resilience.
